Origami dress card

Made this card for an aunt...she's always taken it upon herself to add a little more color to my wardrobe :) So I thought this card would be perfect for her...I just wish the post office could get the card to her on time...her birthday is today!

Christmas cards

I know this is too early for Christmas but in my attempt to organize my card-stock and craft supplies, I found some unfinished Christmas cards from 2011 and was compelled to complete them! Looks like I'll be giving out a few cards this year..

Thinking of you

Made this for a close friend. I hope she likes it!

Flower girl card

Used this template from Martha Stewart for my flower girl card. I think my cousin will be pretty psyched to see this in the mail :) Also used a Martha Stewart punch to decorate the side of the card

Untitled cards

Thank you cards

Birthday Cards

Wedding card

I've made this card for an earlier wedding but forgot to take a picture of it at the time. This particular card was made for my cousin who is getting married next month. I made sure that I documented it this time!
In case you're interested, here's where I got the inspiration for this bride & groom card. I think this is super cute :)

More Cards - Robot theme & Baby shower

Here are a few cards I made over the last 2 years - will post the cards which inspired these ones once I find the links.

These are part of a robot themed birthday card, a robot themed valentine card and a baby shower card I had made for a colleague/friend.

I got the idea for the robot birthday card from here. The stamp that she used looks really cute. I found it pretty easy to draw it by hand and that served the purpose for a single card but I think I may consider buying it if I find the need to make multiple robot cards in the future.

The robot valentine card below is my version of a free printable I found online - link here

The inside of the card had a message and the image below (I had found this image on an Etsy card - link here)

Spring Cleaning

Old habits die hard. It's that time of year again...out with the old and in with the new :) I'm moving soon and it's time to get rid of a lot of junk I've held on to for the last 5 years.

It's been almost 2 years since I've posted anything here, so I thought I'd get rid of the cobwebs that were hanging around on this blog! I don't have anything to write, so I figured I'd add some more pottery pictures.

Until next time.....Hopefully it won't be another 2 years :)

Addicted

I recently re-discovered my love for making cards :) I'm in the process of putting together a huge stash of holiday cards (will post pictures once it's time to mail them out)

Here's a project that I worked on this weekend for a friend who is going to India this week. The order of pages is same as the order of the pictures. The windows open to show photos of the various times we've hung out together over the last couple of years. We were roommates for a little over a year, so it was hard choosing which pictures to include! I've not included pictures with the photos on the card, but this is just to give you (whoever bothers to read this blog anymore) an idea of what I've been working on! She's going back to India to get married, so please join me in wishing her all the best for this next stage in life :)

3 Truths and a Lie

We were made to do this as part of a 'team building exercise' at work today. So I figured I'd try and resuscitate my blog with this! Can you guess which of these is the lie?

• I once traveled in a Maruti 800 with 9 other friends. We got chased away by cops later that night..but not because there were too many people in the car! Stupid Chennai cops :P
• I was part of the winning team - 'The Smelly Cats', at a F.R.I.E.N.D.S quizzo held earlier this year.
• I spent a summer at my uncle's home in Spain and his home overlooked a nude beach.
• I once convinced my brother and younger cousin to sleep under the Christmas tree, so that they could catch Santa when he came in with the presents.

Was reading an old post (this one) and was actually happy to note that some things don't change. But I still haven't managed to do some of those things that I planned to do...and then I remembered this line from Elizabeth Gilbert's book - 'Eat, Pray, Love':

"Tis' better to live your own life imperfectly than to imitate someone else's perfectly."

Three cheers to that!

Sorry

It's just a single word - 'sorry'. And it's so hard to extract from an unwilling giver. It surprises me then, how I'm so easy with saying my sorries - sorries to set things right, sorries to people I love, sorries for things I didn't do. Yes, you read that right - I do that too - say sorry at times for saying stuff and doing things I don't consider wrong. And I'm okay with it.

Someone would say I've compromised on what I believe in, said sorry when I don't feel it. But I don't see it like that. If it makes someone happy, sorts things out, I can do that. If that's the only way of convincing someone of my good intentions, I can do it. As long as that person is important enough for me to go that extra mile. Because you don't want to be estranged from someone who's important to you because they can't get your point. What do you get by being right and being unhappy?

But I'm not sure everyone thinks like that. And I'm beginning to feel like I may be giving up too easily in most arguments. That the sorry goes in vain. Ah well..

More pics!

Thanksgiving + Xmas gifts

I'm in the process of making gifts for various family members I'm going to meet over the next two months - and thoroughly enjoying myself in the process :D
